About this Produce
Cumin, Cuminum cyminum is used in cuisines of many cultures, in both whole and ground form. Traditionally, Gujarat and Rajasthan account for most of the cumin production in India.
Cumin is usually affected with sucking pests and weeds which is addressed by use of chemical pesticides, making it heavily laced with chemical residues. As an organisation working on sustainable spice supply chain, we took up Integrated Pest Management (IPM) for our cumin project in Rajasthan to produce chemical residue free cumin. Our IPM Cumin is a result of adopting good agricultural practices which are EU compliant since the year 2016.
Additionally, we train our farmers on using alternative organic methods to combat pests thereby producing a pesticide free produce. In some areas, we have graduated to organic cumin and a project is getting certified.
